Art Basel

Due to pandemic uncertainties, Art Basel made a pledge to pay for gallery owner´s quarantine Hotel bills and set up a solidarity fund of $1.6 for Galleries that fail to make sales.

Exhibitors showed “reassuring familiar pieces ” and buyers stuck to what they know – a ” mere exposure effect. But otherwise, trading was almost back to the pre-pandemic level, albeit many overseas galleries and buyers staying away.
